Places I've Been

I've been to and lived in many places because we have moved around a lot. Most of the areas that we have moved to were in Illinois and so are most of the places that I have visited. The out of state place we used to live is Trenton, Tennessee, we also used to visit Jamestown, Wisconsin. I also visit my grandpa in Missiouri every summer, and we go to Key Lime Cove a lot. We mostly lived in areas like Joliet or Brookfield, which are more suburban and close to big cities, but we also used to live in Wilmington and Dwight. These places are farther from big cities.

Chopticks by: Jessica Anthony and Rodrigo Corral-Blogs 1-3

In the book Chopsticks by Jessica Anthony and Rodrigo Corral, the main character, Gloria Flemming, has mysteriously disappeared from The Golden Holmes rest facility were she resides. The only thing people have found of her were her pajamas and a blue silk boxing robe with the words "The Marvel Martinez," embroided on the back. The main character (Gloria Felmming), was a famous pianist until she accidentally played the wrong song at on of her concerts. She started to plays one of her favorite songs "Chopsticks." Which is a children's waltz. The book describes Gloria as passionate, loving, and dedicated. She is described to be happy intol she started obsessing over Chopsticks. Her obsession cause her to be in a sad, gloomy, trance. An example of this would be, "The evening she went missing, Gloria Flemming had apparently played the waltz for over seven hours." This shows that she was obsessed with this song and wasn't in the correct state of mind. No one would play the same song over and over again for seven hours. Also, the author wrote, "praised by critics as 'The Brecht of the piano,' Ms. Flemming is known for her modern innovations on classical repertoire." This detail is important because it shows how Gloria is described in the text and how people think about her beyond her physical appearance.

The book Chopsticks by Jessica Anthony and Rodrigo Corral is about a piano prodigy, Gloria Flemming (Glory), who falls in love with her new neighbor, Franciso Mendoza (Frank). Frank is a troubled kid who just moved fro Argentina, he is an art prodigy. She says he pulls her in and out of reality. As their love grows it becomes harder and harder for Gloria to stop playing chopsticks and to play other songs. Glory has both internal and external problems. Frank has mostly external problems. Glories external problems are her dad because he doesn't like Frank and he wants Glory to focus on her tours, and playing her music. Frank's external problem is school, he is getting bad grades in almost all of his classes except Art, Music, and ESL. He then gets kicked out of his school due to bad behavior. Also, he wants to move back to Argentina when he is 18. Glories internal problems are her obsession with Chopsticks and Frank leaving to Argentina.

The book Chopsticks by Jessica Anthony and Rodrigo Corral is about a girl who loses her mom and starts o,aging the piano. Her dad starts getting shows for her and planning tours. Then a boy moves in next door and they are drawn to each other. He decides to move back to Argentina, so she starts to have an obsession over the children's waltz Chopsticks. Her obsession is so bad her dad sends her to The Golden Hands rest facility. Her obsession gets worse until one day she just vanishes. I think the moral of the story is that you should always follow your heart or your world could get
turned upside down.  The moral is that you need to stick with what makes you happy and do what you're passionate about. If you think you're happy with something in the beginning and then you find something else to be happy with, you should always go after what makes you happy. In the story it states, "I told him I don't want to go," and  "I am in a prison," and finally, " but without you everything is empty or broken."  This means that glory isn't happy with going on a tour in playing piano anymore. Happiness is with Frank and she feels empty were broken without him.  This means that since her father is forcing her to be passionate about  playing the piano the more she's going to
resent him in the more she's going to be less passionate about playing the piano. Her passion is with Frank, the more she becomes passionate about him and less passionate about the piano. If she did runaway, then this could be one of the main causes of the cause of her running away.

In Ten Years

In 10 years I see myself graduating Harvard with a bachelors degree in medicine. I want to be helping as many people I can saving as many people as possible. I want to be at least thinking about starting a family. I like helping people and I want my own family.  In addition to being a doctor, after a couple of years, I want to go back to school get a degree in animal medicine (Vetranarian).  A couple of years from that I want to open up my own clinic. It would be for animals and their owners, of course I would have separate areas for people and for animals.  if someone is undecided it would be because they either have too many, too little, or no passions to foster. I also want to go to Hawaii, Disney World, and Tennessee with my family. I've always wanted to go to Paris to. I want to go to these places because Hawaii and Paris are so beautiful. I want my kids to be able to go to a place I could only dream of going to, Disney world, and I used to live in Tennessee when I was a baby and I want to see how it was being there.
